Hail Trail - Take 1

July brought with it a large group of vacationing Rolfsons, which made our lives very eventful. One of these events was a hike up Crags trail near Pike Peak. Our adventure began with lunch and applying thick layers of sunscreen on every hiker, young and old. The small patch of sky we could see above the pinetops was clear and promising. About halfway up the trail, however, the weather took a turn. Lightning began striking closer and closer. Cold rain became pelting hail and the littlest hikers started praying for our survival. :) We bunkered down under the thickest branches we could find, laughing about the unexpected change in our plans and comforting the youngsters.
After waiting for the storm to calm, we gave up and tried to outrun the hail to get back to our vehicles before everyone was frozen. Oh, how we wished we had as many jackets on as we did layers of sunscreen. In the end, we all survived. It only took about 20 minutes of thawing and lauging in our warm cars until everyone was in good spirits once again. I guess all those little prayers worked!

In the beginning.....

Dag and Hola to all!!!

This is the official first post of Boyd & Rebecca Rolfson in Colorado. We have loved our first two months of marriage since June 14, 2008. We feel so blessed and grateful to all of the family and friends who have been a part of this wonderful time in our lives. This blog has been our intention for some time now and it is great to finally get it started. We love and appreciate you all so much and are happy to have one more way to keep in touch!

We have honeymooned, hosted family, attended our second reception in Arizona, visited more family, hosted more family, sent the boys off to a new year of school (they just finished their first break, which was a whopping 3 weeks long!), and settled once again into our little family routine. It has been a whirlwind, but we are all happy and doing well.

Love,
Boyd and Becca
